29 April 2013: Temporary Local Planning Instrument
On 16 April 2013 the Hinchinbrook Shire Council adopted Temporary Local Planning Instrument 01/2013 – Intensive Agriculture in the Rural Zone (TLPI 01/2013). The purpose and general effect of TLPI 01/2013 is to facilitate economic development in the rural zone by making intensive agriculture self assessable development.
The TLPI 01/2013 applies to the area to which the Hinchinbrook Shire Planning Scheme 2005 applies and overrides the provisions contained in the Hinchinbrook Shire Planning Scheme 2005 to the extent of matters outlined in Part 7 of the TLPI.
The TLPI 01/2013 will have effect on and from 01 May 2013 and will cease to have effect on 30 April 2014 or when it is repealed in accordance with the provisions of the Sustainable Planning Act 2009

29th May 2012: Updated Hinchinbrook Shire Planning Scheme.

1st February 2012: Minister approves NQBE development application

29th January 2012: Council signs Infrastructure Agreement with NQBE

8th November 2011: NQBE Development Application Called In
