National Recycling Week

Each year Planet Ark runs a number of campaigns including National Recycling Week. Prior to 2007 Hinchinbrook Shire Council had not previously taken part in it.

Since 2007 Council has undertaken public displays at the Library, Council Office and Public Shopping Centres each year during National Recycling Week.

MAMS Plant Hire (Council's Waste Contractor) has also undertaken to send promotional material in or around this week e.g. fridge magnet note pads.

In 2009 Council has undertaken a waste management campaign that involved a number of events that were advised by public notice. Council plans to undertake a similar campaign each year.
