North Queensland Public Libraries and the State Library of Queensland are proud to offer, FREE ONLINE TUTORING. Connect to real, live tutors who are experts in their fields and who are proficient at tutoring school students online. They provide instant help and tutoring in all main subjects.

yourtutor is.....

  • Available for students from Years 4 through to 12.
  • Available Monday to Friday from 4.00pm-8.00pm.  

One-to-one academic support is provided in the following subjects:

To use Online Tutoring

  • yourtutor Online Tutoring is available at the library or from home.

  • Connect to a live tutor, Monday to Friday from 4pm to 8pm

How it works - 

Subject Selection

1. CLICK the yourtutor icon.  CONNECT NOW
The following screen appears. 

2. CLICK the "Libraries" link.

3. CLICK ON QLD
4. CLICK on "Hinchinbrook Shire Library Service"

5. SELECT your Year Level, Subject and Location

  • You will be asked to wait to be connected to a tutor who can assist you in the area you have requested.

  • Students then enter the Online Classroom where they are connected to a live tutor.

  • Once connected to a suitable tutor you will communicate via a screen like this which includes chat  and whiteboard sections.

  • The student asks their question and the tutor works through it with the student.  

  • File sharing, joint use web browsing & white boards operate in real time!
