NEW LIBRARY OPENING HOURS - Vote with
your feet
The Library is trialling new Opening Hours to make visiting the new library at the Tyto Cultural Precinct easier for working people and families. Each week night the Library will remain open until 6pm. At the end of the trial period it will be determined if this service should continue. So if you like the idea, use it now and it will become a permanent feature.

Look through the many free online Genealogy resources listed on our website The Hinchinbrook Shire Library (Ingham Branch) also holds Births, Deaths and Marriages records for NSW and Queensland from the earliest days of settlement to the war years of the 20th century. Some Victorian records are also kept. Ask the Library staff for assistance. |

The Museum of Tropical Queensland is FREE for locals! Residents of Hinchinbrook Shire Council have joined with locals from Townsville, the Burdekin and Charters Towers in gaining free admission to the museum, thanks to the support of their councils.
All that's required is proof of residency upon arrival!
