What's been happening at your local library
2008 has seen the emergence of the library's first Book Club and it has been very successful. Due to the size of the book sets available the Book Club can only accommodate 10 members and at present our membership is full. All members seemed to have enjoyed the discussion and the shared interest in reading.

During the year we have read:

Things fall apart by Chinua Achebe

The English patient by Michael Ondaatje

The Time we have taken by Stephen Carroll

Affection by Ian Townsend

Anyone interested in forming a second Book Club please contact the Library on 47764683 or inghamlibrary@hinchinbrook.qld.gov.au . we are happy to look at options.

150 Sounds of Queensland

~ Re-imagining the State’s Cultural and Natural Diversity through Sound~

Call for nominations

Your “Soundscape”

You are surrounded by sounds in your everyday life and in your community.

Tell us the stories of the special sounds of your place and the people.

(Nomination forms)

Sounds that reflect changes to the environment

Sounds that reflect the ways that people spend their time

Tell us about

Living sounds - sounds you hear today, or everyday

Sounds that are changing, endangered or being lost

Sounds in memory - sounds from the past

Would you like to preserve, or recreate, a sound from the life of your community?

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Queensland’ Statehood (2009), Project 150Sounds will compile           “150 important sounds of Queensland”, asking all Queenslanders to nominate a sound unique and important to a local place and the community.

The project is funded by Queensland's 150th Celebrations 2009 (Q150)

Department of the Premier and Cabinet (www.q150.qld.gov.au)
