"Fierce invalids home from hot climates" by Tom Robbins

The extremely lengthy title tempted me to read this book and from page one to page last I enjoyed every word. A tongue in cheek humourous, sad, funny tale, sometimes improbable but chillingly possible, particularly in reference to religious and wierd philosophical questions. I enjoyed this book as much as any I have read in 50 years.

"Double tap" by Steve Martini

A story of power struggles between government and private enterprise involving the murder of a high profile software entrepreneur. The slaying being blamed upon and ex "minder" who claims innocence. henceforth into the legal intricacies of the American system told in a splendid manner, leading to a finale which is a real "mind blower" and possibly indicative of American power politics.
