Poems by Jessie and Lateisha

I have a burglar for a cat

She steals things like my hat

“Meow” she say’s sneakily

While the carpet is creeping

So I bought her a rat

To take her mind of my hat

Free choice poem

Today is yellow like gold

Today is a hippie van on the road

Today is like a steam train on the track

I am moving through the day like an atomic toad

Today is yellow like the honey from a jar,

Today is a rock bands guitar that doesn’t make a sound,

Today is a luscious juicy mulberry,

Today is a sultry sunny beautiful day,

I move through the day like a red sports car on a dusty road.

Sister

I have two sisters who are so nice

They are as cold as ice

They buy me things

And now they can sing

Now they are as quiet as mice.

Poor pat

There once was a car called Pat,

Whose driver was as blind as a bat,

When one day Pat went BANG!

Because the driver sang,

After she saw an expired rat.
