BILLY
STRAIGHT: JONATHON KELLERMAN
The emotional highs and lows of this very
believable story will evoke the emotions of any person who has been
forced through shattered family relations, at a relatively early age, to
learn the art of survival in an increasingly hostile environment. the
story fluctuates between the brutality people can inflict upon others
and the efforts those who oppose such abuse go to in an attempt to
rectify such situations. It also highlights how the influence of wealth
may often skew the thinking of those on each end of the power/abuse
syndrome. Often sad and fiercely realistic. |
DARKNESS
PEERING: ALICE BLANCHARD
This is a murder mystery in two parts, and is put
together with such skill that the story held me to the last page. Describing
in part the difficulties many families encounter with family members who
are disabled in varying degrees with blindness and Downes Syndrome
problems, the author creates a scenario which is chilling and
believable, with a twist in the tale to complete a very good yarn. |
NO
SECOND CHANCE: HARLAN COBEN
This murder mystery is a real mind bender
which takes the reader to the last page. beginning with an almost double
murder and the abduction of a very young child, a strange ransom demand
and the cynical suspicions of the authorities, the story fluctuates
between the anguish of the bereft father, the tale of lost loves and the
desperate measures he takes in the attempt to locate his missing
daughter. |
