Can of Words Editorial
It is with some
astonishment that we have come to the First Anniversary edition of Can of Words.
Those of you who
have followed our progress will have noted that there were some bright ideas in the
earlier editions that did not generate a lot of public interest and for that reason those
pages of the ezine have not continued. Those that have continued, have showcased talent
from the very young to the much more senior members of our community - which has been the
one of the objectives of Can of Words.
Other objectives are yet
to be addressed. Collecting Recollections from those people of Non- English speaking and
Indigenous backgrounds for example needs further application this year. Any ideas to
assist in this will be most helpful.
However the main
objectives, which will be ongoing, that is, to foster
community engagement,
create
an online civic space,
encouraging and supporting
literary and cultural interests and encourage
utilisation of the library and new technologies have all been, and will continue to be, addressed
through this project.
Thank you all for your support and
encouragement
Ed.
